How to help
Come and love with us.
There are many ways to stand with the choir right now. Some cost nothing. Every one of them matters.
We are in the first days of building our independent future. What follows is an honest list of what we need, and how you can help — starting with what we can receive today, and what is coming as we get ourselves properly set up.

Watch our Freedom Day livestream
The single most valuable thing you can do this week is be there on Monday 27 April at midday (SAST). Every person who tunes in tells the story we want to tell — that the choir is alive, that we are singing, and that the community around us is real.

Donate via direct EFT
The simplest way to support us financially right now is a direct EFT to our Treasurer's dedicated Real Thanda Choir business account at Capitec Bank. Funds are held in trust for the founding members of the choir while the new Non-Profit Organisation is being registered.
For our banking details, please email hello@therealthandachoir.com and we will reply the same day. We ask for your email because it lets us thank you personally, keep you updated, and include you in the community we are building.
Coming very soon · international donors
Based outside South Africa?
We know that many of our supporters are watching from the UK, Europe, the US, Australia and beyond — and that direct EFT to a South African bank account isn't practical for you. We are setting up international online giving — card and crowdfunding — in the coming days.
Leave us your email below and we'll write to you the moment it's live, with a personal thank-you for your patience.

Tax-deductible giving for South African donors
Once our new Non-Profit Organisation is registered and approved for Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) status by SARS, South African donors will be able to give tax-deductibly under Section 18A. We will move this page to GivenGain at that point — the platform purpose-built for South African charities.

Book the choir
If you run an event, a festival, a corporate gathering, a wedding or a community celebration — booking us is direct financial support, and also the practical way we rebuild a sustainable livelihood for the twenty-one of us.

Offer your expertise
We are actively looking for pro bono or low-bono support in:
- Legal counsel — South African NPO registration, intellectual property, contract review
- Governance and nonprofit administration — helping us set up a sound constitution and board
- Creative industry — music publishing, royalties, artist management
- Communications and media strategy
If any of that describes you, please write to hello@therealthandachoir.com.

Share our story
If this story has moved you, the single most powerful thing you can do without spending a rand is share our Freedom Day livestream, and this website, with one person who loved Thanda before. The choir's original strength was community — and it still is.
A note on transparency
We are a choir rebuilding itself in real time, in public, with no external management. Everything we receive — every EFT, every booking fee, every act of kindness — is accounted for to the group. As soon as our new NPO is registered, we will publish formal financial reports on an annual basis, as required by South African law and because it is the right thing to do.
